The trend of car racing in Lahore.

The colorful, dazzling and happening city of Lahore is another name of entertainment, music, food and CAR RACING… yeah, the speedily escalating motor sports are becoming obsession of today’s generation. Every speed maniac wants to grab the most modern, shiny, stylish and FAST car to be the most dominant one on the tracks of the city.
Lahore has always been the center of fun and masti, and this car racing activity is yet another chapter of the thrill packed nature of Lahore. All the passionate racers gather on the various distinct spots and show off what their cars are capable of. Teenage boys to grown up men, every body is drawn in this exciting sport.
Like the participant, cars are also of all types and breeds. From Porsche to Nissan to Mazda to BMW to Chrysler, all hot looking things of beauties bluster out their power and their speed on the open, long tracks.
Weekend nights of Lahore come alive with the growling of the heavy duty engines of these unbelievably expensive, imported and highly modified speed beasts. The spacious and less occupied areas were there are fewer residents, are mostly brought into plays. The most prominent are Defense phase 6 and Bahria Town other then these Jublee Town area in Raiwand, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Khayaban-e-Iqbal in Defense are also famous.
Mostly the action is organized un-officially without any big sponsors. The competitors, there friends and some eager crowd get to gather and get the fuel burning with there tremendously strong motors. The talent and potential is obviously present but no appreciators! No talent seekers…where as just in our neighbors, the Indians have progressed a lot in motor sports. Their players are in the world wide racing contests like Formula 1, Formula 3 and WRC. Here in Pakistan, motor sports are still a neglected category. In Lahore, only three official events (mentioned below) have held so far to opportune our racers to get their wheels on fire.

1. The Drag Race Event
The competition was held at Walton Airport on 1st of February 2009 by Tourism Development Corporation Pakistan (TDCP). That was the first ever of its kind. As this was a drag race, only one car was being timed at time. Cars from other cities also came to participate. The reviews were not very impressive due to a little mismanagement but surely this was something to correct for future events. Although, some families were not happy but they agreed that the event was a very good effort and should be improved for next time. Apart from the racing, the ‘non official’ hair pins and burn outs were also the crowd pleasures, with swarm of people shouting ‘Burn out, burn out’ to drivers of cars as varied as a Corolla and a BMW Z3.
2. Fast & The Furious Show
This was another not well organized event held on 17th may 2009 at Walton road. Rs. 250 was charged to people to watch it. The show was not well advertised. No banners, no posters, that’s one of the reasons why it didn’t go well. Shows like this, as they already happen less then often, must be advertised and managed well for the betterment and growth of the sport in the country.

3. AAG TV Drift 360 Competition
After the huge success of Drift 360 Karachi Chapter. AAG TV along with Mountain Dew dares the Petrol Heads of Lahore to come show their talents on June 18th to 20th, 09 at Walton Air Base. The categories were classified as below:
Heat 3: 1600cc to 2500cc
Heat 2: 2500cc to 3500cc
Heat 1: 3500cc or above

As every car lover knows that there are types of cars. Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and Front Wheel Drive (FWD) cars. In RWD, when a car accelerates forward, the car’s centre of mass is moved to the rear. Most race cars are RWD. One reason RWD cars can handle better than other layouts is that their weight balance is usually closer to ideal. Whereas FWD vehicles inundate the front wheels with the responsibility of both steering and drive duties, RWD Spread these tasks over both ends of the car. This means that, when on the limit, the front tires are less likely to be overloaded (under steer). The drive is also able to progressively ‘rotate’ the car around a corner by using the throttle rather than just the steering wheel. RWD configurations are the time-proven, preferred layout in nearly every form of motor sports, including Formula 1. It is, without dispute the most pure and driver-oriented configuration available.
Driftability: Power sliding, and the more extreme example drifting, is one major benefit of rear wheel drive. Exiting a corner and having the rear wheels struggle for traction while you are accelerating is one of the most appealing aspects of RWD. Controlling the slide, or balancing the acceleration, can be one of best aspects of driving a car and it is the reason why most sports cars are still exclusively rear wheel drive.

The top three fastest cars in Lahore right now are
1. Nissan Skyline GTR R32 having a RB26DET engine owned by Mr. Tafoor.
2. Corvette C6 having LS7 engine owned by Mr. Raza Maghu.
3. Lancer Evolution by Mr. Sheikh Haseeb.
(These guys own multiple sports cars.)
Other then these, the superbly modified Civics, Lancers, Capris’ and jeeps also run really fast. It’s all a game of how you spend money on your ride. The more intelligently handled car, the more performance it will give. A car worth 10 to 15 lakh can give competition to a car of worth a million or half a million if it is modified well. Your win depends upon how well you have served to your car.
The races take place on a trail of quarter mile. Skyline R32 can cover this distance in instant 9 seconds that means you cant even afford to blink, Corvette C6 in 11 seconds and evolution in mere 11 and a half or 12 seconds. Gosh!! These things must be REAL FAST.
Some other famous cars are Mitsubishi 3000 GT of Mr. Khurram Khawaja, Toyota Supra of Adil from ISL. It has 2JZGTE engine. These cars are specially built for racing and can not be used as regular rides. Even some of these don’t even run on the ordinary fuel, they need a special kind of petroleum to feed themselves. LS7, RB26DETand 2JZGTE are three world famous engines and considered to be bullets proof, as in, they are proficient of handling anything you throw on them.
Lahore is the proud owner of all these gorgeous and exceptionally swift cars. The Lahori’s are the proud winners of the Saturday night racing n drifting events which gives them another excuse for celebrations in a city where life is celebrated everyday. What they want is a little recognition on a broader level. But recognition or no recognition, no one can stop lahori’s to rejoice or have fun crammed activities. Car racing is surely on top of these… LAHORE ROCKS!!…
And for regular live n exclusive pictures and videos of all this action plus exciting information on latest and beautiful cars, you can visit www.sochmydoch.com. This one is the best and most organized website for all the racing events in Lahore.

Girls and the colour PINK

Pink is trendy, pink is attractive, pink is funky, hot, quiet and pink is the colour of cherry flavored cotton candy. This is what girls said about the colour pink when asked to describe it in one word.
This universe is full of wonderful colours. Every colour is different from other. Likewise, every human is unlike the other with a completely diverse mind. He views things in his own personal way. Colours also have a different meaning for every individual and we interpret them according to our mental state. For instance take white. One person takes white as the colour of purity and freedom and some other might relate it to loneliness.
Pink also have a variety of approaches. It is the combination of white and red. The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. Red is the colour of anger, rage, vogue and passionate love. Where as white depicts peace and harmony and when these both colours are combined, a very stable and neutral colour is formed, that is, Pink. In this way pink possesses the qualities of both red and white. The shades of pink which contain more red has more essence of zeal and fury, and as it goes to the off-white, pearl shade it becomes more softer and cooler.
Pink is always associated to femininity as it gives the soothing, fragile impact of a women. Girls are supposed to be very easy going, sensitive and soft and that is what colour pink is. It’s in a girls psyche to like pink as she is around so much pink ever since she is born. Pink is a women’s colour of happiness and joy. It reflects the feeling of a teen age girl having her first crush, a little girl getting presents on her birthday, a student getting her graduation degree and a mother holding her new born baby for the very first time.
Pink is the ultimate favorite colour of girls.
A survey conducted among the girls of age 4 to 25 concluded that colour pink in all its shades is the most liked colour of more than 80 percent girls.
It is observed that brighter pinks are youthful, fun and exciting while vibrant pinks have the same high energy as red. They are sensual and passionate without being too aggressive. Toning down the passion of red with the purity of white results in the softer pinks that are associated with romance and the blush of a young woman's cheeks. It’s not surprising that when giving or receiving flowers pink blossoms are a favorite. For women who are often overworked and overburdened, an attraction to pink may speak to a desire for the more carefree days of childhood.
Pink stimulates the energy level in young girls and encourages action and confidence. It is an obvious element of a girl’s life and it appeal girls of all ages. Liking for different shades of pink also tells the nature of a girl. Girls who like the more reddish colours of pink are often supposed to be stylish, classy and adoring. On the other side girls liking the milder shades of pink are more dreamy, sensitive and charming.
Mostly girls have their rooms painted pink and they love to have pink curtains, pink bed sheets, lamps, quilts, cupboards and pink rugs. Bathrooms of girls are also pinky. They have pink towels, tubs, soaps and the mirror is also framed pink.
Hand bags 13%
Jewelry items 26%
shoes 9%
gadgets 30%
clothes 19%
Hair accessories 3%
Pink is considered to be the most fashionable colour by almost every girl and they love to use pink in many forms in their dressing and styling.
Even the new inventions in technology, cool gadgets like I-pods, stylish mobiles, advanced laptop computers and high tech photo cameras are also designed in pink colour targeting girls. It is also the colour mostly used by cosmetic brands for their advertisements. Like the Luscious. It really works to gather women’s attention.
The survey tells girl’s most favorite stuff is somewhat like mentioned in table.

A fashion model Natasha Ali said: we use pink a lot. It gives a sort of punk to our dresses and other stuff. Personally my favorite pink is the light milky shade of pink. It’s sophisticated and looks really presentable.
Fashion designer Sobia Lodhi said: pink is peppy and trendy. Girls always look fro pinks. We emphasize on pink a lot in our summer and spring collection specially. It captures every eye.
Textile designer Imran Gul says: pink is the most demanded colour. We play a lot of blues, greens, purples and white with pink. Pink has its own huge variety of shades and every shade is very much adored by women. In every season, pink is the most the most obvious colour to work on and to wear.
An art student of NCA, Wardha Shabbir described pink as: if you ask me, I see pink as a long relaxing holiday on a beautiful beach and in fashion, I just love pink wrist watches.
Pink is a very inviting colour. Girls who are not committed wear pink to attract masculine attention. A girl would prefer pink flowers as her first love gift. Pink also depicts a girl’s virginity as it is so purely feminine and sensitive.
It’s like a social norm now - as it is seen among almost every girl – that girls live in a kind of fairy land where she dreams of her future love life or her perfect spouse. This fairy tale atmosphere of a girl is related to pink. As if I would have to imagine my fairy tale wedding, I would view my self wearing a long pink gown with a bundle of pink roses in my hands and my prince would come to me in a white stunning buggy and we would be living in a palace with a wonderful garden full of pink flowers. So pink is the colour of a girl’s desire, her fantasies, her obsession and her passionate love for someone.

How Cell Phones Affect the School Environment

When mobile cell phones were first released, they were only really used by the wealthy business man; the phones were so large that it was near impossible to carry them around. But then something amazing happened, pay as you go mobile phones were released, and could be purchased by any one of any age. The design of handsets got smaller and sleeker, and the technology that was being loaded in to them was mind-blowing.

Then the inevitable happened and students all around the world started buying the latest phones, but how has this affected the current education sector Let's have a closer look.

Most schools have already signalled the cell phone as disruptive and distractive, and have set aside policies that forbid the use of them on school grounds. A major downside of these phones in class is that students can text there friends throughout lessons and miss out on hearing the teacher's thoughts and opinions. Students can also cheat in exams by texting the answer to one another.

The modern day phone also comes equipt with cameras, these also add to the privacy pressure that schools around the world are facing. To eliminate this problem cell phones should be banned from being brought into school premises, or must be switched off throughout the day. There is no need to have phones switched on during the day, students should be at school to learn, not have fun. If there is a case of emergency, then parents know how to contact the school immediately.

Another use of the growing technology in these phones are games, with graphics getting more and more advanced, students would rather turn the volume low on there handsets and play games rather then listen to the teachers. Further advancements will see students connecting with there handsets online and playing with there friends throughout the classroom.

Distractions such as mobile cell phones do not belong in a school; there was no need for them in the past. So why have things changed If you are concerned about your child's education being affected at school, then you are 100% right to be. Kids having a cell phone throughout class will only end up causing bad activities. A way for schools to get around this would be to implement a block feature, so that while on the premises, mobile phones could not pick up any signal. Although this will not stop the use of playing games on the phone, it will effectively stop texting and cheating in class.

“What if world really had a super hero”

Hey look what is that!

Where!

There up in the sky!

No way…. Don’t tell me it’s some kind of a super hero….

I guess….. It is some kind of a super hero….

Oops that silly thought again… I don’t know why this idea comes up in my mind every time I see a unfortunate incident happening on the roads of my country, that from out of nowhere a super hero will show up and will save the man getting robbed or the old lady going to be hit by the bus or the girl whose purse has been snatched but nothing happens … nobody comes and the poor man loses his wallet, the old lady get hurt and the girl stand there helplessly in the middle of the road.

Why don’t we have a real super hero like the ones in our favorite comic books and those in big budget Hollywood movies! Actually we really need one, don’t you think so! Having inefficient law enforcing agencies, perhaps a super hero would have done the job much better. Our streets would have been much secured and safer to have a calm relaxing walk not like now when the street crimes have increased to a big extent and we don’t know on which turn our cell phone will no more belong to us.

And why only the street thing! ... Super heroes are supposed to be super tough. They are ready to face every unfortunate event and do the world the relieving favor of getting rid of the evil forces like Super Man saved the world from wicked plans of lex Luther

of destroying California to make a fortune in real estate by buying large amounts of "worthless" desert land and then diverting a nuclear rocket from a missile testing site city, Spider Man fought with the and the amazingly portrayed Joker by Heath Ledger eventually had to die in the end with the world having helping powers of Bat Man.

Our world today is under influence of many natural calamities like destructive earth quakes, dangerous hurricanes, increasing water shortage etc. all because of rapidly mounting global warming. A super hero could have "Green Goblin" repair the damage to the torn ozone layer with his alien powers and would have protected the world form the effects of global warming. The huge ice burgs of Antarctica would not have melted the way they did; it would have controlled the hurricanes like Katrina and Tsunami.

Other then what nature is doing to our world we our self are also creating reasons of human insecurity with the means of hazardous nuclear weapons. Since Hiroshima Nagasaki the unforgettable nuclear war show has not let the world off of its trails. A super hero would not have let anyone use these weapons for negative purposes. There would not have been any deadly nuclear battle. Our super hero would surely have made our universe a lovely place to live in.

America is one of the supreme countries of the world and a lot of countries are living either under fear of being attacked by her or already bearing bloodshed on the name of war against terrorism. The root cause according to me for all this ‘Americanism’ is the haunting episode of 9/11. A super hero would by no means have let the American conspiracy be successful which caused death of several soldiers and innocent natives in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The political, economic and safety issues of Pakistan would also have been under control by our hero. He would have detected the suicide bombers anywhere and would not have allowed them to blow up there selves along with many naive civilians. He would not have made it possible for the Taliban to capture our frontier sides and our very own Switzerland would have been the same, as beautiful as ever. No super power would have the guts to intervene in our country and impose its orders on our nation in presence of the super hero. He would not have let our great leaders die like the way they did. Nobody would have dared to blame us for any pitiable situation with the super hero being us all the time for protection, security and fair play.

The super hero would have made our world an ideal place, a utopia. He would have preserved its beauties from all the critical problems it is facing today. No country would have been a third or fourth world country. He would have sorted out all the miseries of the earth.

Maybe I fancy having a physically strong and mentally efficient super hero in our world because we don’t have any normal human being who can be called a real super hero, who possess such great qualities, who could save the world from all the damage it has done to it self. Einstein, Newton, Quaid-e-Azam, Abraham Lincoln, The Wright Brothers etc.

All are called to be the super heroes of their time for their achievements. But I don’t think they fit into my definition of a super hero because all they did was either to invent something that later caused troubles for us or just won some piece of land after carnage of a lot of people. My super hero, as like the one in comics, unfortunately the unreal ones, is someone who can get to the bottom of the problems of the world and remove them from the core so that they can not flourish again.

It’s very unlucky of us that we still don’t have produced alternatives to get access to the super natural qualities of these super heroes. We should get inspiration from them and design such systems which can match up with any of these heroes. Although it’s not a possible thing to happen but I wonder if in movies why don’t we have them in real! I mean what was the inspiration of the person who created it all for the first time! I really wish we had a super hero in our world and may be I would have been the lucky girl as Louise lane or Mary Jane…. You never know…
